Minstrel Island, where our lodge is located, is a small island on the edge of Knight Inlet, Canada's longest fjord. Not only does it have a colourful history but it is located perfectly for wildlife viewing - in the middle between the Grizzly river, our wild ATV river and Johnstone Straits where the whales reside.
The remote environment, climate, the Salmon spawning rivers that flow into Knight Inlet and the natural protection provided by the mountains, forest and the Knight Inlet Fjord, cause the area to attract and concentrate the most diverse and abundant wildlife available in North America.
Knight Inlet Salmon Fishing
Salmon and the powerful Halibut make this wilderness fjord their home. The King salmon range from feeders to record level 75 pound monsters and Halibut up to 200 pounds. We offer the finest wilderness salmon fishing and halibut trips in British Columbia, Canada. Great King Salmon Holes
We have been fishing the Knight Inlet area for 35 years now and know all the most productive spots as well as which tide to fish them. Our experienced guides will lead you to great Cinook [King] Salmon holes and hook you up with some big fish. Look out! You could be in for a long battle. Another plus - Most of our saltwater fishing is done in pristine wilderness - no crowds."
 River Fishing
Knight Inlet Steelhead Fishing We offer a Salmon/Steelhead combination combination starting the third week in July and running through August. You can spend time on the river as well as lots of time catching salmon and halibut in the ocean. Wilderness Fishing Fishing has reached the point where, if you can drive to it, there will be crowds. By flying into our wilderness area most of your fishing will be done in quiet uncrowded bays. Usuall, when we fish in the inlet, we are the only boats there. You will also enjoy your float plane trip past the scenic Coast Mountains and above the Inside Passage. We use Turbo-Beaver, Caravan and regular Beaver sea planes. Knight Inlet Fishing Guides  An all important part of our "Sailcone Experience" is your guide. Our seasoned crew has fished with us for an average of 10 years. They know all the hot spots, when to fish them, and are experienced boat handlers. They are your contact with the local "lore" and have been known to come up with a good joke or two.
We use safe 17 ft speedboats with 2 motors, VHF radio and retactable cover to get out of the rain. We also use a larger 19 ft speedboat for groups of 3 or 4. We supply you with sufficient equipment with any package that you choose. Boots, Suits, Rain Gear, Cooler Boxes are available at our lodge when needed.
One of the best things about being in this business is the friends we've made over the years. Sharing the thrill of a great Tyee battle or sharing a story are all part of the experience. We built our lodge to provide a comfortable, intimate and relaxing atmosphere - a lodge that is yours. We also have added a small beach cabin with ensuite and a remarkable view. We've kept the maximum mumber of guests to ten at our lodge. Our guests become, not only our wildlife companions but our friends as well.

After a day of exciting and rewarding Knight Inlet Salmon fishing, we serve gourmet dinners to our guests.
Gourmet level - lots of dungeness crab, fresh local prawns, salmon, as well as vegetable and meat dishes. If you need a special diet please let us know ahead of your visit.
You will enjoy goumet level meals and wonderful picnic lunches.Knight Inlet Grizzly Bears Viewing Safaris British Columbia Grizzly Bear viewing and Orca Watching. The Grizzly Bears are not only on the ocean beach working the grass and boulders but are all around our viewing stands. The present population in the Glendale valley is around 40! The whales are their usual friendly selves. A great many close ups Orca, Humpback and/or Minke Whale and lots of Bald Eagles, Seals, and Sea Lions and some fantastic listening can be found here.
