With our exclusive fishing resort on the north west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, we are able to provide some of the best saltwater fishing that the coast has to offer. Northern Vancouver Island is one of the most scenic and rugged regions along British Columbia's coastline. Every year millions of salmon travel past this area on their way to the spawning grounds, thus creating an awesome opportunity for the adventurous sportsman, with over 500 square miles of untapped fishing grounds.

Our packages are all inclusive, with meals, accommodations, boats, fuel, tackle, gear, and guides (Winter Harbour). We believe in taking care of all the little details so that you can get down to the "reel" business of fishing!

Activities

Winter Harbour Resort offers various activities for the more adventurous souls. Fishing of course being the number one activity, is from sun-up to sun-down. Open ocean trolling for salmon with electric down riggers, deep sea jigging for Halibut, or switch to the calmer water in the inlet, jigging for rockfish, ling cod and yellow-eye. Other activities include; hiking, sightseeing, photography or just relax, kick back and watch some satellite TV in our Fisherman's Lounge, or simply enjoy the ocean-front view along the boardwalk.

Boats & Gear

Our rugged, and durable 19' center console boats are constructed of heavy duty welded aluminum. With their sturdy hull and rib construction, they are custom built for our resorts - specifically for west coast open water fishing. The boats are strong, lightweight and easy to maneuver, allowing for a stable ride in virtually any kind of water. Powered by 90HP motors, this time-tested hull design carves through the waves with ease.

No expense is spared when it comes to our equipment. We use top quality Penn Level Wind reels, along with Shakespeare Ugly Stik salmon rods and heavy duty custom "roller-tipped" halibut rods. We also rig our boats with Scotty down riggers (electric down riggers for Winter Harbour Resort), and Lowrance depth sounders. We also provide a wide assortment of terminal tackle (flashers, spoons, plugs, etc.), and bait for our clients to use.  Our boats also come equipped with VHF radio's, compasses, and fuel.

Vancouver Island Fishing Resort Accommodation

Built in 2003, the resort was constructed on a 14,000 square foot wharf on the harbour itself. Spacious 290 square foot rooms, each with private 3 piece bath, 3-4 single beds and daily linen service, combined with large dinning and lounging areas with spectacular ocean and mountain views, make relaxing after a successful days fishing a delight.
