Captain Nick New, known locally as Trickshot, is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to navigating the waters around Bermuda and is great at finding the fish. He was introduced to fishing at an early age when his Dad would charter the Sea Wolfe and the rest, as they say, is history... he was a born fisherman!
He has been fishing in Bermuda waters for almost all of his life, beginning his career as a youngster with Capt Russell Young Sr. on the Sea Wolfe over 25 years ago.
Over the years Captain Nick has competed and worked in countless tournaments, reeling in many marlins, sharks, wahoo and tuna. Nick has also been regularly hired by American boat owners and Captains as a guide /mate for well known tournaments such as the Bermuda Big Game Classic and Billfish Blast, as his knowledge of local waters is sound and expansive. He has also competed in tournaments abroad, most recently working with Captain Charles Kersey on the "Big Game", where they won the 40th Annual Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament, the second leg of the prestigious 2007 South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series.
Bermuda Fishing Boat
Reel Hot is a 43' x 15' Custom Sportfishing Boat, built in Florida by Claude Torres.
Reel Hot was specially designed for day fishing with all the comforts and luxuries a modern fishing boat can offer! The enclosed fly bridge is roomy and gives you a great view of the action in the large cockpit or of the oceans surrounding you.
The cabin was recently redesigned, refitted and upgraded by Captain Nick himself! It is spacious and comfortable, offering air-conditioning, satellite radio, a place to rest with flat screen TV and DVD, and equipped galley. So after you REEL in the big ones, there is plenty of room for you to relax or celebrate the catch of the day!
The boat handles deep seas around Bermuda well and she cruises at around 20 knots. The modern electronics are a great advantage and aid in the smooth running of the boat.
