Belize River Lodge is a first class fishing destination situated on the lush, green banks of the Belize Olde River, about ten minutes from the Phillip S.W. Goldson International Airport and approximately four miles from the mouth of the river and the Caribbean Sea. Guests stay in a beautiful mahogany Lodge which is located in a setting of tropical greenery and colorful flowers. While visiting the Lodge, set aside your diet and enjoy our well known delicious Belizean Creole cuisine.

Sight fishing the Flats is our specialty, with variety our main attraction. Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit & Snook are the main species caught by fly fishing or spin casting enthusiasts. Fishing is from skiffs, usually two anglers to a skiff, with an English speaking, excellent, experienced, licensed guide. The FLATS; cayes; reef; mangrove channels; Belize, Sibun & Manatee rivers; Black Creek and several other creeks & lagoons in between are the areas fished from the Lodge in a normal five day fishing package. This is a very large area with a great variety of fishing conditions, fish species, and scenery.

The Lodge is also a naturalists paradise with an abundant variety of birds; iguanas & lizards in the trees and crocodiles in the river. Birding at the Lodge before breakfast is common among fishing and non-fishing guests. Eco tours to the Barrier Reef, the jungle river & mangrove cathedrals, manatee watch & birdwatching and the Maya ruins are all very easily accessible from the Lodge. While close to the airport, the Lodge is conveniently located in a tranquil jungle setting: no long boat brides or extra plane trips are needed.

Belize River Lodge also operates fishing charter vacation cruises. Living aboard our comfortable motor yachts (52' Chris Craft "M.V. Blue Yonder" or 58' Hatteras "M.V. Cristina") allow you to visit a variety of fishing grounds & cayes not otherwise accessible in this, the last uncrowded region left in the Caribbean. This is the most successful and versatile way to fish the FLATS, mangrove channels, coral reefs, and cayes of Belize for Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook, Barracuda, Jack & Snapper and many other species of game fish.
