Belize City Fishing Guides

If you are going to be on a cruise through the Western Caribbean with a stopover in Belize, and fishing is your passion, then Belize River Lodge’s day fishing trips are for you.

Belize River Lodge has been in the “sport fishing” business the longest and offers some of the best guides and Flats fishing available.  Belize River Lodge specializes in sight fishing the many saltwater FLATS for Tarpon, Bonefish & Snook and we also have the rivers as a fall back in inclement weather.

Belize City Flats Fishing Guides

Fishing is from 23 foot comfortable panga style skiffs, usually two anglers to a skiff, with an English speaking,
experienced licensed, professional guide.  Whether you are a fly fisher or fish conventional

tackle, our guides enjoy fishing either option.  All day packages include equipment and tackle, so you just need to let us know your preference when booking.

Our diverse fishing areas include the Flats, Cayes, Barrier Reef, mangroves, channels, many rivers & the creeks in between. Fishing is for a variety of game fish species.  On most fishing days, you will have a good opportunity to fish for Bonefish, Snook, Tarpon and Barracuda.  If the weather is right, Permit is another great option to fish for.  Other possibilities to fish for are Snappers, Jacks, Grouper, ‘Cuda’s, Ladyfish & others. Belize River Lodge is primarily known for its variety in fish species & diverse fishing areas.

As a note, all cruiseships in Belize moor about 5 miles outside of Belize City and shuttle boats bring you into the City at the Tourism Village.   Due to all the shuttle boats, our guide will meet you within easy walking distance of the Tourism Village in Belize City.  To ensure maximum fishing time, approximately 7.5 hours, please request the first shuttle boat off the cruiseship and the last shuttle boat back.

For ladies, please note that our fishing skiffs are open panga style, with no restroom on board.  Options are shore leave (roughing it in the jungle), a quick dip in the sea,  as well as the "bucket".

If you have any problems or questions once you are on the cruiseship, the direct phone number for Belize River Lodge in Belize is (501) 225-2002
