Andros Bonefish Club

Built on the site of a 250 year old English Sisal plantation, Andros Island Bonefish Club takes you away from it all and places you within a fly cast of some of the best bonefishing in the world .
Located approximately 150 miles southeast of Miami, Andros Island is the largest island in the Bahamas chain, yet it remains the least populated. Andros Island Bonefish Club is located at the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean, Cargill Creek, (a 27 mile long fresh water stream), and the eastern end of the North Bight. This places us just 100 yards from a productive, wadable flat where bonefish are frequently spotted tailing in the nearby waters.
In this ideal position we are able to offer out guests direct access to some of the best bonefishing in all the world and more fishable flats than any area of the Caribbean. These waters are renowned for both the incomparable sheer numbers of bonefish-tousands of dem-in large schools averaging 3-5 pounds, as well as the great potential for trophy-size, double-digit bonefish swimming in its waters. Andros has long been known as the home of the world's largest bonefish.

Andros Island Bonefish Club

The Andros Island Bonefish Club, (AIBC), is now recognized as one of the premier bonefishing lodes in existence today. AIBC takes you away from the distractions of everyday life and places you within a fly cast of some of the best fishing in the world. The lodge stretches over a quarter of a mile and outside every room there is a great view of the ocean.

All twenty-nine rooms are clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Each comes with a private bath, a personal refrigerator and a ceiling fan. The rooms are modestly decorated to make room for all of your tackle and belongings. We now have single rooms, double rooms, and even two triple rooms available to better accommodate your needs. Daily housekeeping and laundry service are provided.

The main dining room/lounge at the Andros Island Bonefish Club has satellite TV and a well-stocked bar. The hearty, home-cooked meals are delicious with generous portions. Dinner time is also a great social event. It is a time to share stories, adventures, and tips with well traveled anglers from many locations.

About the Owner Captain Rupert Leadon

Owner Captain Rupert Leadon is a personable host who warmly welcomes guests and attends to their needs. He worked for Andros Town Yacht Club, where he learned to guide, and would dive for lobster and grouper to sell for extra cash.

Over the years he met many fishermen who immediately appreciated his guiding abilities and knowledge of local waters. Rupert established relationships with clients eager to see him succeed as a professional guide. Because he had nowhere for his clients to stay overnight, he purchased the property that Andros Island Bonefish Club now sits. With machete in hand and a lot of hard work, Rupert built from scratch a moderate guest house for his anglers. As the word spread of the great fishing Andros had to offer and of Rupert's talent as a top notch guide, more business headed his direction. Additional exposure was created when well known figures in the fishing industry came to fish with him. Lefty Kreh's articles and his respected opinion quickly spread the word that Rupert's Lodge was a hidden treasure for all who seek bonefish.

Andros Bonefishing Guides

Captain Rupert personally leads and trains his competent staff of native Andros bonefishing guides. They are all highly skilled, experienced saltwater flats fishing guides.

Anglers fish from Dolphin Super Skiffs, complete with poling platforms, 70-hp motors and spacious casting decks. They are roomy, fast, and comfortable.

There is more than just bonefish in this warm turquoise Caribbean Sea. Less than 1/2 mile to the east is a deep channel called the "Tongue of the Ocean," which drops from shallow water to thousands of feet of blue water. From this channel, huge barracudas work their way onto the flats. It's not uncommon to see cudas of four feet or longer in water less than shin deep, and they will take a well-placed fly or lure. Policy strictly "catch and release".
