Grand Bahamas Bonefishing in Freeport

Second generation Bahamian Guides with over 50 years of combined experience .

David Jr., Jeffrey and Joseph Pinder are names familiar to anglers througout the Bonefishing world, and have been featured on the REEL GUYS on ESPN. Their unsurpassed knowledge and understanding of bonefishing, jovial nature and excellent communication skills make for a very exciting day on the water for anglers of all casting abilities, be it fly or spin fishing.

The over 200 square miles of pristine water located on the northwest side of Grand Bahama Island offer unlimited opportunities for flats fishing. The waters support large numbers of sport fishing species, including bonefish, permit, barracuda, jacks, snapper, sharks and some tarpon. The Pinder Brothers boast that the average size is 6-7 pounds and they usually "attack" the flies. This area has had very little fishing pressure which contributes to the large number and size of fish being caught.

Bahamas FishingMaximum comfort and safety are provided for the Grand Bahama Bonefishing guest with new 16" totally fiberglass Dolphin super skiffs. These are state of the art flats boats with no option overlooked. They are equipped to comply with U.S. Coast Guard standards and are powered by new, 90 horsepower Yamaha outboards. The Dolphins have stationary lean bars, carpeted inside walls, built in rod holders, comfortable seats, center consoles, poling platforms and are equipped with cellular phones. The Dolphins offer the angler the opportunity to fish in extremely shallow water and provide the stability required for excellent, accurate casting. The are also opportunities for wading if desired.

Grand Bahama Bonefishing

Bahamas SportfishingAll Dolphin Super Skiffs are equipped with life jackets, cell phones, poling platforms, and leaning bars on the casting deck for your comfort. This is sight fishing for fish you will spot tailing or cruising the flats. The guides will always try to quietly approach the flats with the wind and sun at your back. There is also the opportunity to wade fish a number of firm, sandy flats. For wading, we suggest neoprene boots (Christmas Island style) or high top tennis shoes. Wear cotton socks that are long enough to tuck your pants into or gravel guards to keep out sand particles. Blisters caused by sand or coral abrasion can put a damper on a great fishing trip.

Clothing/Miscellaneous

Bahamas FishingLightweight slacks and long sleeve shirts of cotton or material designed for use in warm weather flats fishing conditions are fine. Many fishermen prefer short sleeve cotton shirts and wading shorts,(these work well, but don't forget the sunblock). Wading booties or high top tennis shoes and cotton socks fill the bill. An up and downer flats hat, a floppy style golf hat or a straw hat with a wide brim are necessary for sun protection and for spotting bonefish. Rain gear can also be a comfort as wind protection when moving from flat to flat. We suggest that you rinse the salt from your rods and reels at the end of each fishing day.
