 Captain Darren Haydon started his career fishing the deck for eight years with the very best Cairns Captains including Laurie Woodbridge and Dennis "Brazakka" Wallace, Darren has had an extensive apprenticeship. He has had 20 years experience in the Cairns region, fishing 12 seasons as Captain weighing 5 Black Marlin over 1000lbs and releasing many more.
Darren has also fished around the world including Hawaii, the east coast of the United States and Mexico. He has also fished many of Australia's other hotspots including Bermagui, Port Stephens and Broome. Still his passion and No.1 destination in the world is his home town Cairns Australia, and in particular the Ribbon Reef's of the Great Barrier Reef.
Marlin Fishing Cairns - Charter Boat And Tackle
The "Allure" is a fast, comfortable purpose built game fishing vessel. Accommodation consists of a double cabin with private ensuite, a V berth that has 4 single bunks plus another toilet/shower facility. The boat has air-conditioning through out with a comfortable, spacious and functionable saloon. She is fully equipped with state of the art electronics and navigational equipment.
Also for your convenience is an 11ft rubber duck with davit for easy access when snorkelling, diving or just checking out a beautiful sand quay.

 The big Black Marlin season runs from September through to early December. With fishing back to its peak now is the time to come and fish the very best heavy tackle fishing destination in the world. Extended trips are the way to go giving you the best chance to move up and down the 150 mile stretch of water between Cairns and Lizard Island with the migrating marlin. Marlin Fishing Cairns-Light Tackle And Fly Fishing
Light Tackle Fishing-Cairns
 Excellent year round light tackle fishing is available out of Cairns. Small Black Marlin roam areas less than an hours run from Cairns, these fish range in size from 30lbs - 120lbs and are excellent fun on light tackle or fly.
Amongst the small Blacks are good sized Sailfish and close by reefs provide excellent Spanish or King Mackerel fishing.
These reefs also provide excellent Giant Trevally fishing with poppers.
Best months for small Blacks are May through to September, we have experienced days of 20 Marlin bites with the best day being 11 tag and released. These fish also tease well for the enthused fly fisherman to have a chance.
Great offshore light tackle fishing in Cairns from December through March can provide you with a wide range of species - Wahoo, Dolphin Fish, Yellowfin Tuna and large Spanish or King Mackerel all roam the outside edge of the reef during these months, and still around from the heavy tackle season are some good size black marlin and large sailfish.
Day trips, extended live on board trips and mother shipping are available for light tackle and fly fishing.
