Los Alerces National Park Fly Fishing Lodge in Argentina
 The clear waters surrounding Lago Verde Wilderness Resort are the angler’s and nature lover’s paradise. The resort is at the center of the fishing area of Los Alerces National Park. In a place strictly protected, you will spend your fishing days counting on birds and trees as silent companions. Most of the rivers and lakes are for catch and release, fly fishing only; waters hold rainbow trouts, brown trouts, brooks and landlocked salmon. Experienced bilingual guides provide their knowledge and ensure fruitful tours.
Lago Verde wilderness resort is located in the Argentine Patagonia, deeply rooted in the mountains and surrounded by a dense forest where some of the oldest living things in earth still breath: the alerce or lahuan.
The resort is built along the shore of the lake, home of trout and salmon, a perfect setting to enjoy magnificent views, get delighted with the sounds of silence and allured by the clear call of water.
 Typical Day
Starting at the resort in Lago Verde, either by boat or vehicle, most of our fishing destinations are reached within an hour; our head guide will meet you after breakfast, inform you about the kind of fishing, wading, etc., for that day and all questions will be answered. At lunch time, guides will set up comfortable camp chairs and tables, also if necessary we will provide shelter for rain, sun or wind while food and drinks are served. After an intensive day on the river; lake or spring creek; and back in the lodge; drinks and appetizers will be waiting for you before dinner.
Esquel Area
Out of Los Alerces National Park and surrounding Esquel, a typical small Patagonia town, there are excellent fly fishing rivers running in a different environment than such of the park. To fish these rivers the best is to be in Esquel as all of them are within less than 1 hr drive from the town, so we have designed an All Inclusive Program based in Cumbres Blancas which is a charming boutique hotel and the best in Esquel.
So if you have some additional time we would suggest you to spend two or three days at Cumbres Blancas and fish the rivers described below with our guide for the Esquel region.
Trekking and Riding
Close to the mountain top, the forest becomes sparse and shorty, the giant coihues let its dominant place to the ñires and lengas, close relatives which dress red before loosing its leaves. The high grasses are the summer place for the cattle raised by the old settlers of the area. Tour around the mountains, walking or riding, guided by those settlers, old inhabitants of solitude, and share with them their way of living, is an unique experience you will never forget.
