Dorado Fly Fishing Argentina - Esteros Del Ibera

Try Argentina for a Dorado fly fishing experience !! A fresh water fish also called the Tiger Of The Rivers that many fly fishing anglers are excited about.

Mario Battiston, a renowned angler who pioneered in fishing dorados on a fly, offers through several estancias and his own lodge various programs for dorado fly fishing, dove and partridge hunting and bird watching .


The ESTEROS DEL IBERA region is home of the Dorado, a member of the Salmon family (Salminus Maxilossus) of golden color hich is always ready to attack the lure providing an exciting fight that will probably repeat several times for each angler.

We are Dorado Fly Fishing specialists. Since 1966, we have been fly fishing the Ibera Reservoir one of the most precious areas of Argentina.

Our fly fishing guides are both experts and pioneers in exploring the best places to get the best fish and they never go to the same places on the other hand they are ready to find unexplored ones to give our fishermen the best.

Esteros Del Ibera Corrientes Province

We are in Corrientes Province in the North East of Argentina 25 miles away from the ancient and beautiful Mercedes city in the heart of the most important sweet water reservoir in our planet, Ibera Marshland, a natural santuary an area of 3.500.000 acres, a paradise for Dorado Fishing and also you can find lots of different species of birds and wild animals for hunting.

This beautiful resort is only 400 miles North from Buenos Aires.

All Inclusive Services

Our Staff welcomes the visitors at Buenos Aires airport to take them from there to the Hotel. We meet we receive the fishermen at the bus station in Mercedes or in Corrientes Airport and then they are transferred to the Dorado Cua Lodge.

It has spacious rooms with two double beds with spacious bathrooms, air conditioning, service room. Our chef prepare delicious dishes, american and continental breakfast, the dishes are accompained with the best Argentinean wines.

If it is required we also serve pic-nick lunch served in the islands of our Corrientes River. When the fishing is over, our guests are transferred to the airport or bus station and upon their arrival in Buenos Aires, they are met by our staff and transferred to the hotel or to the international airport.

We buy the tickets free of taxes so that the fishermen only have to fish without any other worries.

Dorado Cua Lodge

This is a new lodge custom built by the finest local contractors and artisans. 450 square metres (1476 square feet)

It is situated right in front of fantastic islands and streams of the vast marshland formed by the Parana and Isoro rivers. This is an excellent area for one of the best Dorado fishing experiences.

We built the lodge in this area so the fishermen have less travelling time which results in more time actually fishing in this fantastic area where we have clear waters all year round!

This is an incredible fishery for Dorado, Dogfish and Giant Piranha and all in a short boat ride from the lodge.

The area also offers sightings of thousands of local birds, alligators and other animals

Our lodge has four large double bedrooms and we supply excellent local cousine and the best wines for our guests.

Really the best experience a fisherman can find!

We only practice Fly Fishing. We guarantee between 15 to 20 strikes a day, having the oportunity of catching 10 Dorados a day.

The weight of them varies between 4 to 20 pounds. The best flies are dark colour with something bright on them. It is recommended rods of 7-8 lines "sinking" or "teenyline" 300.
