Our fishing season for trout starts in November and ends in May, and these are the three options we offer in Patagonia:

Our major base of operation is located in San Martin de los Andes, a quaint upscale town of 30,000 that has fine dining, touring, shopping and all major services.

It is surrounded by more than a dozen good trout rivers ideal for dry fly fishing. We have big rivers to float, small rivers to wade, spring creek for sight-fishing and lagoons. All these different environments make of San Martin de los Andes one of the most complete destinations of Patagonia for trout fishing. It is normal to have more than 15 captures a days, being many of them over 20 inches.

Minimum stay: A week.
Arrival and departure: Chapelco airport or San Carlos de Bariloche.

This town is located 400 miles south of San Martin de los Andes. A big variety of rivers and lagoons make of Esquel another interesting destination for trout fishing. There is the opportunity of combining both destinations staying in our country for a longer period. This will give you the chance to fish most good trout rivers of all Patagonia.

Here we offer an expedition of a week floating 60 miles of the river. We camp every night in a different island of the river.

These brown trout are a real challenge, and they test our skills as fishermen. The average size of brown trout is eight pounds and rainbows of five ponds.

We will mainly use streamers in this river because the trout here feed from a native bait fish known as pejerrey, which we will try to imitate.

Season: March, April, and May.
Minimum time: a week.

Dorado, described by those addicted anglers as the most exciting fish that fresh water has to offer, is available in two areas in the northwest area of Argentina. We have operations on the Rio Grande de Tarija and the Juramento Rivers. If you are considering a dorado trip, it is key that you go with an outfitter that has knowledge and experience.

Our season for fishing dorado is from June to November, and these are the options we offer:

This amazing river of crystal clear waters is located in southern Bolivia by the border with Argentina. It possesses the biggest fresh water Dorados that you can find nowadays. The average size capture the last few years is 15 pounds. It is normal to have bites of dorados of 20 pounds, but they are difficult to land. Our base camp is located by the river banks, so every day we can wade areas a walking distance from the camp.

We fish mainly inside Tariquia National Park, which endorses a strict policy of catch and release.

This is a challenging river that tests your skills as a fisherman constantly. Fresh water dorados are smart, strong, and very combative.

Season: from June to October
Minimum time: a week.
Arrival and departure: San Salvador de Jujuy or Salta (both in Argentina)

Just two hours from Salta city we find a unique river with big dorados of an average size of 13 pounds.

Season: all year
Minimum time: four days
Arrival and departure: Salta or San Salvador de Jujuy (both in Argentina)
