Edmonton Fishing Guide

Reel Angling Adventures offers year round all-inclusive fishing tours and outdoor adventures on some of Alberta's finest lakes and rivers.  All Edmonton fishing packages are fully outfitted including all fishing equipment and foul weather clothing.  Meals are provided for most overnight fishing trips, & full day trips.

We also offer 2-5 plus days custom fishing vacation packages.  Whether summer fishing or ice fishing, Reel Angling Adventures has the guided fishing trip for you, from one day fishing excursions to multiple day fishing trips for the Athabasca & Edmonton region.

Your Edmonton fishing guide will hook you onto Northern Pike, Trophy Walleye, Lake Trout, Burbot, Yellow Perch, Goldeye, or Whitefish while exploring these lakes; or enjoy a jet boat tour and guided fishing tours on the Historic Athabasca River or Calling Lake for world class Walleye fishing.  All guided fishing trips are within one to five hours of Edmonton, Alberta.

Ray has been fishing the Alberta waters ever since childhood. With many years of fishing experience, Ray brings his knowledge and excitement to each and every fishing trip. Ray always likes to practice catch and release, and treats all the fish with great care. Besides being an avid angler, he also enjoys hiking, wildlife/bird watching, and being in the great outdoors.

Athabasca River Fishing

Alberta Sportfishing GuideCome and join us, as we guide you along the beautiful scenic Athabasca River aboard our 16 foot explorer jet boat...Athabasca River has many areas where you can fish.  This river does produce some large fish; Northern Pike to 20 plus pounds, Walleye to 14lbs.  There are always opportunities to catch other game fish such as: Goldeye, Rocky Mountain Whitefish, Burbot, or even Grayling. 

The Alberta record Walleye was caught in the Athabasca / Pembina River, just over 15 lbs. 

We fish in the Athabasca County, Smith (Lesser Slave River) region, and the Fort Assinboine region.  At times this river is as good as a fly-in fishing lake and only a 90 minute drive from Edmonton, makes a great day trip.  Best times to reserve your fishing trip on this river are June 1st to June 20th and between mid July to October 31st.

Edmonton Fishing Trips

Alberta Fishing GuideLakes  include: Pigeon Lake, Lac La Nonne, & Hanmore Lake (all these lakes make a great day trip from Edmonton).

Hanmore Lake is located 1.5 hrs northeast of Edmonton, in the county of Smoky Lake. This lake has tremendous Northern Pike action.  There is always a good chance to hook onto a 10 to 20 pound Pike.  Other game fish in this lake are Perch, burbot and Lake Whitefish.

Lac La Nonne is located approximately one hour north of Edmonton.   Within this lake, there are numerous opportunities to catch Northern Pike, Walleye, Perch, Burbot, or Lake Whitefish. Alberta Ice Fishing Adventures, Fishing Canada

Long Island Lake is located 35 kms north of Westlock and has an abundance of Northern Pike and Yellow Perch. Alberta Sport Fishing

Pigeon Lake is a 1.5 hour drive south of Edmonton.  This lake houses a good population of Northern Pike, non-stop Walleye action, Perch, Lake Whitefish, and Burbot.

Overnight Only (Minimum a 2 day fishing trip)

Peerless/Graham Lake is located 2 hrs north of Lesser Slave Lake.   Peerless Lake has Lake Trout to 30 plus pounds, Northern Pike to 25 lbs, Walleye to 14lbs, Whitefish, Perch, and Burbot. When fishing these lakes there are so many other opportunities to fish the other lakes in the area, only a short drive away.   Trophy Walleye Fishing, Fishing Charters, 

Wabasca Lake/River is approximately 1 hour north of Rock Island Lake.  This lake has Northern Pike to 20 lbs, Walleye to 8 lbs, Perch, Whitefish, and Burbot.

All guided fishing trips include:

Each guided fishing tour can be a day trip or a multiple day trip.

 A Professional Fishing Guide, 7 to 10 hours of fishing, use of all fishing equipment and tackle, bait, lifejackets, rain gear, use of binoculars, a hearty lunch (full day trips only), snacks, beverages, 16 ft Lund Rebel/ or a 16 ft Explorer jet boat, and souvenir photos. 

Some overnight trips include: use of all appropriate camping equipment, breakfast, shore lunch, and supper.

What to Bring:

Warm clothing, water proof boots, gloves, sun glasses, sun block, and an Alberta Fishing License

*An Alberta Fishing Permit is required* (we can assist you in obtaining a fishing License).

Accommodations and Customized Fishing Packages can be arranged.

Transportation from Edmonton (airport) can be arranged or we can meet at the town of Legal (half hour north of Edmonton) to go fishing.
