Alaska Silver Salmon Fishing lodge Tsiu River.
Alaska Silver Salmon Fishing Lodge Tsiu River Welcome to Dierick's Tsiu River Lodge Tsiu River fishing along the Gulf Coast of Alaska at Dierick's Tsiu River Lodge with owners Ed and Greg Dierick. Others may make the claim, but rest assured, you will not find better Silver Salmon fishing in any river in Alaska (or the world for that matter), than that found in the unique Tsiu River. Our lodge is accessible only by air, as no roads access this remote river. If you want the luxury of fancy hotel and access to night-life, this is not the place for you. However, you can be casting to thousands of coho salmon (literally) within an hour of landing at Dierick's Tsiu River Lodge. Worried about room for your backcast?
How about miles of open sandy beach, with a mountain and ocean view? Fish size varies from 6 to over 20 pounds, and easy access to the river is provided from the lodge using all terrain vehicles with trailers. Scenery at Dierick's Tsiu River Lodge is as spectacular and unique as the fishing. Diericks's Tsiu River Lodge Tsiu (pronounced sigh-u) River is located on the Gulf Coast of Alaska 80 miles east of Cordova, and 106 miles west of Yakutat. Our camp is situated in a picturesque setting between the Gulf of Alaska (3/4 mile south) and the glacier-carved Robinson Mountains (7 miles north) on the edge of the Wrangell - St. Elias Wilderness Silver salmon fishing is at its best from August 10 through October 10, and there is a small Steelhead run during May and September. During the peak of the Salmon run you will see unbelievable numbers of fish - fresh and bright, right out of the Gulf of Alaska, as they migrate near Dierick's Tsiu River Lodge. Light to medium spinning and fly fishing tackle perfectly matches the Tsiu River, as snags are few and far between.
The flight to camp is an adventure in itself. Arriving from Cordova, you fly over the famous Copper River and Bering Glacier. If you choose to arrive via Yakutat, you pass over awesome Malaspina Glacier and Icy Bay. Whichever direction you choose, you fly over country that is home to many moose, and black and brown bear. You will likely see sea otter, seals, and sea lions along the coast as well. Since this section ofthe Gulf Coast is part of the Pacific Flyway, seasonal migrations of shorebirds, raptors (bald eagles are common here), and waterfowl are plentiful for viewing and photography also. The Tsiu River supports a thriving commercial gillnet fishery where approximately 15 fisherman earn their livelihood. We share this river and respect their fishing operations during fishing periods (which average three days per week). Regardless, there are more wild salmon in this stream than most folks imagine still exist in this day and age. A call to our reservation number opens the door to a variety of other outdoor adventure opportunities in the Alaska Gulf Coast area, including some of the world's best halibut fishing. At the Tsiu River Lodge we will show you the best freshwater salmon fishing available anywhere. We will work to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our goal is your wish to return and visit us again. Tsiu River Silver Salmon Fishing Rates (August thru October) | - August thru October
