Aniak, Alaska Fly In Fishing Lodge Experience the adventure of a lifetime in the remote and scenic backcountry of the Yukon-Kuskokwim region of western Alaska. Aniak Air Guides has been offering Alaskan Wilderness Adventures since 1995. Our lodge is located in the village of Aniak, 350 miles west of the nearest road system. We are surrounded by breathtaking scenery that provides the quintessential Alaskan experience - it doesn't get any wilder than this! We are right in the heart of the best fishing in the state, if not the planet!
Many thousands of species call our Western Alaska home. On land there are brown bears, grizzly bears, black bears, caribou, red fox, lynx, wolves, wolverines, musk ox, moose, ptarmigan, beavers, marten, and otters. In the water there are tundra swans, hundreds of species of waterfowl and other migratory birds, all five species of salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, arctic char, dolly varden, grayling, pike, burbot, and sheefish. Overhead, bald eagles, peregrine falcons, osprey, and other raptors soar.
Aniak Air Guides is owned and operated by bush pilot and guide Rob Kinkade, while Rick and Lori Townsend round out the guiding roster. With thousands of hours of flying in the bush and decades of guiding experience, we know what true sportsmen and sportswomen deserve to assure that their stay with us becomes the experience of a lifetime. Personal service and safety are our highest priorities. For example, every group receives a marine radio so that we can fly over and check in on each group midway through the trip.
All of us here at Aniak Air Guides are excited to share our little piece of heaven with you, and we look forward to being part of your great Alaskan wilderness adventure!
Whether you're looking for an all inclusive guided fishing trip, or a more economical do-it-yourself option, we promise to provide the most memorable fishing trip you've ever had!
Our location is amidst many wild and remote bodies of water. We offer the finest staff, service, and equipment available. Our decades of experience assures that we will give you the adventure of a lifetime!
Aniak Fishing Trips are offered from June 1 to September 30 to coincide with seasonal fishing dates.
All 5 species of pacific salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, arctic char, dolly varden, arctic grayling, pike, and sheefish are all very abundant in this remote and scenic area of Alaska, that we call home. With hundreds of great fishing locations within a 1 hr flight of the village, we're sure to find just the right float trip, or location, for just about any species of fish you'd like to target. Customizing any of our adventures is also possible, so please don't hesitate if you have any questions.
What is the Fishing Like?
Aniak Air Guides' lodge sits on the outskirts of the village of Aniak, at the confluence of The Aniak & Kuskokwim Rivers. Being right in the heart of the 3 most productive fisheries in western/southwest Alaska ( the Yukon, Kuskokwim, and Bristol Bay Drainages), gives us a unique advantage to access, and choose from so many wonderful and productive fisheries. If a salmon run happens to be down in one particular river, it's no problem to find another close by.
Local waters commonly yield 20-30 salmon per day!....not too mention all the rainbows, arctic char, dolly varden, & arctic grayling. King and chum salmon are the first to arrive.... starting their run by the village in mid June and culminating by the end of July. Aggressive silvers typically show in late July, and hit all the way thru mid-Sept. Reds and pinks are sprinkled in from late June thru early August. Rainbow Trout fishing is second to none, starting in mid-June, with hot fishing all the way in to September. Arctic char, dolly varden, and arctic grayling are also caught in abundance until mid-September.

Aniak Fly In Fishing Lodge
Aniak's summer population is around 500 people. Picture yourself surrounded by alders, birch, and spruce with nothing but big sky and hundreds of miles of wilderness between you and the nearest road system. Moose are wandering through the bushes, wolves are howling at the full moon. This is the setting of the Aniak Air Guides home base.
The lodge offers 7 guest rooms in all, 4 with full baths. The additional 3 bunkhouses have an adjacent bath. In total, 19 beds are available, so large groups and gatherings are no problem. We have a garden with summer greens of truly Alaskan proportions. A full service cook is on staff to provide down home food to satisfy any appetite that our wild adventures will surely create.
Amenities include laundry service, a big screen TV, satellite television, and high-speed Internet access. We also provide 24-hour power and running water; in bush Alaska these utilities are not to be taken for granted! Contact Rob Kinkade at 907-675-4540
