Alaska Helicopter Fishing
 Bush-planes are a wonderful way to travel, but their accessibility is limited to streams with enough water depth, or gravel bars with sufficient runway length. While most Alaska fishing adventures utilize bush-planes as their means of transportation, at Talaheim we Heli-Fish. Talaheim Lodge is the only Alaska fishing adventure with two helicopters for our guest’s exclusive use. We like to call this type of adventure, “fishing Alaska, New Zealand style”.
Helicopter fly fishing not only allows us access to remote streams rarely visited by other anglers, it also provides witness to a rare breed of fish. And by “rare” we mean “not savvy.” Fish that are used to maneuvering around human predators are smart; therefore you spend most of your day making choices that will hopefully outsmart the fish. On the other hand, fish that aren’t used to human predators are a beautiful thing— they bite hard and without reservation, they jump, fight, and pull on the line like their life depended on it— thus, fly fishing made simple. It’s a beautiful thing.

Fly In Fishing Lodge (45 minute flight from Anchorage )
Located 80 miles west of Anchorage, just over the Beluga Mountains, a cluster of beautifully crafted log cabins can be seen just prior to landing at Talaheim’s Alaska Fishing Lodge. After landing on our private strip, guests walk down the path to our main lodge before checking into their personal log cabin. Cozy and rustic in design, yet equipped with all the modern conveniences, Talaheim has three private log cabins for their guest’s exclusive use.
Main Lodge
 The main lodge is the hub of the Talaheim Complex. A hardy breakfast and gourmet dinner is served family style at the main lodge while guests enjoy 35 years of Alaskan tales told by owner and operator Mark Miller. After an entertaining dinner, guests can venture to the deck for a relaxing evening drink around the bonfire, or a midnight hot tub, or to enjoy a number of Talaheim’s lodge activities.
