Nushagak Fly Fishing Camp (Up river camp)
Come share this special location with a few million fish.

Our fly fishing camp is located in a pristine wilderness and features cabins for our guests. The camp is in a very remote location, it is extremely secluded, and you will see few, if any, other fishermen. The fishing is spectacular as the fish, rarely if ever, see a fly or leader. The fly camp is located in the heart of the spawning grounds for the 5 species of Pacific Salmon that run the Bristol Bay Watershed. Bristol Bay is known as "The Salmon Capital of the World". The Nushagak River is one of the two river systems feeding Bristol Bay.

Along with the spawning salmon, hundreds of thousand of Trophy Rainbow, Arctic Char and Grayling concentrate at the spawning beds to feast on dislodged eggs. There are so many salmon that they are continually uncovering eggs, as they dig their Redds, where other salmon have already deposited their eggs. On the upper reaches of the Nushagak the whole river is a giant spawning bed including the waters in front of camp. You will not find another location with a greater diversity in species of fish. You will find all the modern conveniences for your comfort.

Nushagak King Salmon Camp World Famous 26th Anniversary 1983-2009

There's one reason why over 90 percent of our anglers return... They catch fish! Most of our clients catch a dozen or more king salmon a day...several of our anglers catch over 100 king salmon each...per week! The Nushagak is a salmon fishery beyond belief, with 90,000 to 300,000 king salmon from 15 to 50 pounds returning each year.

With over 19 hours of daylight, anglers should prepare themselves for nonstop fishing action. At the Nushagak King Salmon Camp, the issue is not whether you will catch fish, it's whether you'll give out before the fishing stops!

Along with the King salmon, let's not forget the excellent fishing for Sockeye and Chum salmon. Our lower river camp is located on Native land directly on the Nushagak, and we use modern boats to transport you to the best fishing areas. This camp fills up early, so book now for the best dates.

You'll fly via commercial jet from Anchorage to the village of Dillingham, located in the heart of the Bristol Bay Drainage. From here you board float equipped aircraft for the flight to our remote fishing camp. When you arrive at camp, you'll be treated to a hearty lunch, after which you'll have time to unpack and accompany your guide on a brief indoctrination of the camp facilities.

At the Nushagak fishing Camps we use boats for getting to the best fishing spots. The fish are never far away. If you are a good caster, you can almost land a Lunker from your tent door. You will not have to spend several hours a day flying around like at some lodges or camps. Also consider that if the weather is poor, you can still get out to the fish when planes don't fly.

There is no regimentation in our camps. You can fish 18 hours a day or 2 hours, and forget about time schedules! Our goal is to have you enjoy this unique fishing camp to its maximum potential, without the common headaches of everyday life.

Our King Salmon camp offers spacious tents, with carpeted floors and comfortable bunks. We also boast hot showers, complete kitchen facilities for restaurant-quality meals, and modern radio gear. Every effort is made to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Yet our policy of only two anglers per tent allows for privacy. Meals, which are always a first-class affair, are served family style in the dining tent. Steaks, roast, turkey, fresh salads, home-made rolls, and if you desire, salmon is on the menu throughout your stay. The only thing our anglers are wanting after leaving the dinner table is time to sleep off their meal before hitting the river for a late evening workout with a tackle busting king salmon.

Prime dates still available for the 2010 season.

Meet Your Host Eli Huffman welcomes you to the best King Salmon and fly fishing available anywhere.
