Fresh air. Wide-open vistas. Untouched by modern technology. Challenged by nature. Really wild, wildlife. Truly epic fishing. All describe the adventure that awaits you at Goodnews River Lodge in Alaska.

Located over 450 air miles due west of Anchorage in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, the Lodge offers anglers inspiration, relaxation and terrific fishing. With dedicated staff and guides, incredible salmon runs, and beautiful scenery, your stay at our fishing camp will be truly memorable.

Alaska...Our Last Frontier

Alaska Fishing Lodge"Alaska" is a Native American word meaning "great land." It has been called America's Last Frontier because much of the great land is still unsettled. This fact is very evident when you first arrive in the small village of Goodnews Bay (via private charter non-stop from Anchorage) to begin your adventure at Goodnews River Lodge. Our friendly staff then transports you in a high-speed jet boat to our camp on the Goodnews River - a three-branch river system that courses through the 4.3 million-acre wildlife refuge.

The Sounds of Silence... No longer are the amenities of modern living apparent or available. No phones (except for emergency use), no television, no FM radio and no outside contact - or headaches - with corporate America! For the next eight days (or more depending on your excursion), your environment consists of semi-rustic living conditions, almost 24 hours of sunlight, great fishing, and the adventure of a lifetime - shared with friends you've just recently met.

First Class Fishing

Alaska Fishing Guide For Trout, Grayling, SalmonImagine casting your line in one of the most unspoiled watersheds in the world today and having the fish almost fight each other to get to your line! If that's what you want then Goodnews River Lodge is the place for you.

Trout, grayling and all five species of salmon are fished here. We spend a lot of time maintaining and protecting our fishery. We do this to keep the fish biting and make your adventure everything you've dreamed it should be.

Goodnews River Lodge is especially proud of our outstanding Rainbow Trout fishing. Rainbows caught on the Goodnews River typically range from 20" to 25" with an occasional 30" or ten-pound "lunker" caught every year! Rainbow Trout displaying its distinctive colors.

Each year the Goodnews River also hosts a world-class Dolly Varden run. It is not uncommon to land fifty dollies in a day! The average dolly caught measures between 18" and 20".
