Captain Troy Frady is your point of contact when booking or inquiring about your charter. Troy is a graduate of The University of Alabama and has been fishing local Gulf of Mexico waters since 1979. He has been professionally guiding for seven years. He worked for years with fortune corporations as an executive until creating his dream job. He is married and has four children and one grandchild on the way.
 Your personal guide is Lem Allen. Some people call him a deckhand. He is much more than that. Lem is a professional fisherman and fished the BASS pro circuit for three years. Lem is the saltwater fishing guide that will be beside you during your fishing trip. He is the one who helps you bait your hook and tie up all your gear. He also instructs and helps you maximize your hook ups. Lem is married and has two children. We believe in Teamwork! We are here to serve you. Our trips are about our customers’ happiness.  Trusting someone with your family is the most important thing we do as parents. We solve the problem of trying to find a reputable deep sea fishing charter that will treat you and your family with respect. Families have been trusting Distraction Charters for over 7 years with their Orange Beach deep sea fishing vacation. Your family is safe with us. We are professionals. We do not use fowl language or smoke while on your charter. You are welcome to smoke but we prefer you do it outside on the back deck. We encourage you to bring your camera and take a picture of your fish as you catch them. We usually see Wild Dolphins, Sea Turtles and Marine Birds while out fishing. You may have a chance to see some of these animals up close and right beside the boat while you are fishing.
Orange Beach Deep Sea Fishing Seasons
Gulf Shores has long been known for its family friendly atmosphere and mild fishing seasons. Our most popular fishing season begins in during March with Spring Break and continues through the summer months of June, July and August. This is our busiest time of the year. We are able to offer a wide range of fishing charters during this season. Depending on the length of your charter, you will catch King mackerel, Spanish mackerel, Bonito and Crevalle Jacks on our 4 hour trolling trips. In addition to the fish listed above, our 6 hour light tackle Orange Beach deep sea fishing trips usually produce Red Snapper, Trigger Fish, Vermilion Snapper, Black Snapper, Ruby Lips, Bonita and sometimes a monster Shark.
Our other most popular season begins in September and goes through the fall and winter. Our winters are usually mild and offer some great near shore trolling for King Mackerel, Jack Crevalle and Spanish mackerel until October. At the end of October, we start red fishing with light tackle. We call them bull reds down here. We catch them best during November, December, January, February and March of each year. These monster bull reds weigh between 10 to 30 pounds each. They hit light tackle on top water by sight casting and also trolling. Either way, you will have a blast catching these red fish.

Distraction is a 41’ Hatteras yacht and offers casual-elegance for those who expect more from their charter. We can carry 6 passengers at a time. She is well maintained and has a large, climate controlled sitting area with a modern interior for your comfort. She has a clean bathroom and a kitchen. There are also a few bunks so you may rest on the ride home. We keep her clean and fresh smelling.
Orange Beach Deep Sea Fishing Rates and Prices for 2009
4 hour (trolling only) $700
6 hour $1,100 (trolling and bottom fishing)
8, 10 and 12 hour trips are available for more serious anglers. The rate is $200 per hour plus tip.
Additional Orange Beach Deep Sea Fishing Expenses:
Suggested Gratuity of 20 to 25% of the cost of the trip paid to Lem after the trip.
Complimentary Fish Cleaning! Your mate will clean your fish after you return to port if you would like. He will bag the filets so you may take them with you.
All-inclusive! License, Bait and Tackle is included in the price above. All you need to bring is your favorite food and drink. (Alcohol allowed, no bottles please)
Booking and Reservations for Orange Beach Deep Sea Fishing
No Deposit Required! We ask for a credit card number to hold it. You pay the morning of your trip.
Cancellations! Within 7 days of your trip, we charge 50% of the charter to your card.
Payment! We accept Cash, Visa and Master Card. We do not accept checks or invoice customers for payment. Payment is due the morning of the trip before we depart.
Passengers! We carry 6 passengers maximum. 8 year olds or younger will be required to wear a life jacket during the trip for their safety. You might bring one from home that is more comfortable than the big bulky orange ones we have.
Weather! We do not fish in unsafe or seas that are rough. We will not charge you if it is too rough. We will try and reschedule if possible.
