Our staff members have over 40 years of experience fishing on the coral reef and will delight you by using excellent technique, knowledge of the species' behavior, as well as many local improvisational approaches to fishing that will deliver an experience of a lifetime. Our headquarters are located in Los Cobanos just alongside the coral reef which is one of five protected national reserves in El Salvador along with Barra de Santiago, El Jocotal Lagoon, and the national parks Imposible and Nancuchiname.

Los Cobanos Coral Reef is located in El Salvador, Central America and is one of five protected national parks in the country. It has an extension of approximately 157 km making it one of the largest and most important in the American Pacific Coast and is home to great quantity and high quality biodiversity attracting the best game fish in the region.

During the months of December and January Los Cobanos is a fishing haven for light tackle anglers as the water transitions from murky to crystal clear transforming the white sand beach and its rocky surroundings into excellent casting spots. The beach offers a unique opportunity for anglers to move around during high and low tides to key spots using their preferred techniques and tackle as the species to catch are rooster,jack, spanish mackarel, and snapper.

There are two main seasons one has to keep in mind before traveling to El Salvador to target the right fish: Dry Season (Nov - April) and Rainy Season (May - Oct)

Reef Fishing and Shore Fishing: (Giant Snapper, Snook, Grouper, Barracuda, Yellowfin Tuna, Mackerel, Rooster)

Fish El Salvador is an IGFA certified touring company in the area that offers guided tours for light tackle fishermen that want top explore spinning, casting, and fly fishing from shore or from one of our 25 ft pangas. During these months, the mornings are very calm and gorgeous allowing for fly casters to enjoy the no wind factor and target the numerous schools of fish feasting on sardines. In the afternoon, the trade winds arrive in the area and the opportunity for a nice break presents itself only to resume fishing at about 4:30pm and fishing for another 2 hours.

Fly fishermen and spin casters who have visited El Salvador comment on the fact that there is absolutely spectacular fishing, but Los Cobanos is never listed as a fishing destination anywhere on the web.

Fish El Salvador is strategically based in Los Cobanos, one of the oldest fishing communities along the Salvadoran coastline and the only coral reef in the Americas Pacific Region extending almost 140 kilometers. We are located exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes away from San Salvador and within 5 minutes from excellent lodging accommodations such as Oasis Beach Lodge, Las Veraneras Golf Club and Villas, and the all-inclusive resort Royal Decameron.
